家主回答他們中間一個人說：「同伴哪，我不冤你；你不是和我約定了『一日工錢』麼？

「主人回答他們其中的一個人，說：『朋友，我並沒有虧負你。我們不是彼此說好了一個銀幣嗎？

園主謂其人曰、友、我未嘗負爾、爾非與我約金一錢乎、

園主謂其人曰、友、我未嘗不公待爾、爾非與我約金一錢乎、

園主謂其中一人曰、友、我未負爾、爾與我約、非一第拿流乎、

主謂其一曰：「友乎、我未負爾；爾非與我約以一錢乎？

“ But he answered one of them,‘ I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?

But he replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

“ He answered one of them,‘ Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage?

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?

But he answered and said to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

But he answered one of them and said,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling?

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

And the landowner replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage?

“ But he answered one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius?

‘ Friend,’ he asked,‘ how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ The man couldn’t think of anything to say.

Jesus replied,“ Friend, do what you came to do.” Then the men stepped forward. They grabbed Jesus and arrested him.

What should we say then? Is God unfair? Not at all!He said to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whom I have mercy. I will show love to those I love.”( Exodus 33:19)

He’s a companion of those who do evil. He spends his time with sinful people.He asks,‘ What good is it to try to please God?’“ So listen to me, you men who have understanding. God would never do what is evil. The Mighty One would never do what is wrong.He pays back everyone for what they’ve done. He gives them exactly what they should get.It isn’t possible for God to do wrong. The Mighty One would never treat people unfairly.

Can someone who hates to be fair govern? Will you bring charges against the holy and mighty God?He says to kings,‘ You are worthless.’ He says to nobles,‘ You are evil.’

“ Job, do you think it’s fair for you to say,‘ I am the one who is right, not God’?

“ Would you dare to claim that I am not being fair? Would you judge me in order to make yourself seem right?

But you are a mere human being. So who are you to talk back to God? Scripture says,“ Can what is made say to the one who made it,‘ Why did you make me like this?’ ”( Isaiah 29:16; 45:9)

You would never kill godly people along with those who are evil, would you? Would you treat them all alike? You would never do anything like that! Won’t the Judge of the whole earth do what is right?”
