Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

He frustrates the plans of the crafty, So that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building a temple to Yahweh, the God of Israel;they came near to Zerubbabel, and to the heads of fathers’ households, and said to them,“ Let us build with you; for we seek your God, as you do; and we have been sacrificing to him since the days of Esar Haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.”

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don’t make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!”

Destructive forces are within her. Threats and lies don’t depart from her streets.For it was not an enemy who insulted me, then I could have endured it. Neither was it he who hated me who raised himself up against me, then I would have hidden myself from him.But it was you, a man like me, my companion, and my familiar friend.We took sweet fellowship together. We walked in God’s house with company.Let death come suddenly on them. Let them go down alive into Sheol. For wickedness is among them, in their dwelling.

Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn’t command it?

The conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,

Now he who betrayed him gave them a sign, saying,“ Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”Immediately he came to Jesus, and said,“ Hail, Rabbi!” and kissed him.

Absalom and all the men of Israel said,“ The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel.” For Yahweh had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Yahweh might bring evil on Absalom.

A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart.When his speech is charming, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart.

Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them,“ Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu will serve him much.Now therefore call to me all the prophets of Baal, all of his worshipers, and all of his priests. Let no one be absent; for I have a great sacrifice to Baal. Whoever is absent, he shall not live.” But Jehu did deceptively, intending to destroy the worshipers of Baal.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,“ He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Yahweh.

Please go make yet more sure, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who has seen him there; for I have been told that he is very cunning.See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides himself, and come again to me with certainty, and I will go with you. It shall happen, if he is in the land, that I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”
