耶和华如此说：“在拉玛听见号啕痛哭的声音，是拉结哭她儿女，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。”

万军之耶和华如此说：“你们应当思想，将善唱哀歌的妇女召来，又打发人召善哭的妇女来，叫她们速速为我们举哀，使我们眼泪汪汪，使我们的眼皮涌出水来。因为听见哀声出于锡安，说：‘我们怎样败落了！我们大大地惭愧！我们撇下地土；人也拆毁了我们的房屋。’妇女们哪，你们当听耶和华的话，领受他口中的言语；又当教导你们的儿女举哀，各人教导邻舍唱哀歌。因为死亡上来，进了我们的窗户，入了我们的宫殿；要从外边剪除孩童，从街上剪除少年人。

他们从伯特利起行，离以法他还有一段路程，拉结临产甚是艰难。正在艰难的时候，收生婆对她说：“不要怕，你又要得一个儿子了。”她将近于死，灵魂要走的时候，就给她儿子起名叫便俄尼；他父亲却给他起名叫便雅悯。拉结死了，葬在以法他的路旁；以法他就是伯利恒。雅各在她的坟上立了一统碑，就是拉结的墓碑，到今日还在。

我听见有声音，仿佛妇人产难的声音，好像生头胎疼痛的声音，是锡安女子的声音；她喘着气、挓挲手，说：“我有祸了！在杀人的跟前，我的心发昏了。”

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们使我丧失我的儿子：约瑟没有了，西缅也没有了，你们又要将便雅悯带去；这些事都归到我身上了。”

回到兄弟们那里，说：“童子没有了。我往哪里去才好呢？”

他将书卷在我面前展开，内外都写着字，其上所写的有哀号、叹息、悲痛的话。

他认得，就说：“这是我儿子的外衣。有恶兽把他吃了，约瑟被撕碎了！撕碎了！”雅各便撕裂衣服，腰间围上麻布，为他儿子悲哀了多日。他的儿女都起来安慰他，他却不肯受安慰，说：“我必悲哀着下阴间，到我儿子那里。”约瑟的父亲就为他哀哭。

我又看见一个鹰飞在空中，并听见它大声说：“三位天使要吹那其余的号。你们住在地上的民，祸哉！祸哉！祸哉！”

但人死亡而消灭；他气绝，竟在何处呢？
