And he said,“‘ This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’

『因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。』

又說：「為這緣故、人必離開父親和母親，同他的妻子膠結，兩個人就成為一體」麼？

並且說：『為這緣故，人將離開父母，與妻子結合，兩個人就成為一體。』

曰、緣此人必離父母、膠漆其妻、成為一體、此經爾未讀乎、

故曰、人離父母、膠漆其妻、成為一體、此經汝豈未讀乎、

且云人離父母、與妻聯合、二人成為一體、此豈爾未讀乎、

且謂「因此人將離其父母、好合其妻、二人成為一體。」

and said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

and said,‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening.Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.“ At last!” the man exclaimed.“ This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called‘ woman,’ because she was taken from‘ man.’”This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

As the Scriptures say,“ A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say,“ The two are united into one.”

I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.

The Lord had clearly instructed the people of Israel,“ You must not marry them, because they will turn your hearts to their gods.” Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway.

Listen to me, O royal daughter; take to heart what I say. Forget your people and your family far away.

But Jesus responded,“ He wrote this commandment only as a concession to your hard hearts.But‘ God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation.‘ This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife,and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one,let no one split apart what God has joined together.”

But all of you who were faithful to the Lord your God are still alive today— every one of you.

The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.

How I weep for you, my brother Jonathan! Oh, how much I loved you! And your love for me was deep, deeper than the love of women!

After David had finished talking with Saul, he met Jonathan, the king’s son. There was an immediate bond between them, for Jonathan loved David.

You must fear the Lord your God and worship him and cling to him. Your oaths must be in his name alone.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.

But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.

“ Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the Lord your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him.

But then he fell in love with her, and he tried to win her affection with tender words.
