就是说，有些独身者是生来如此的；有些独身者是别人使他们成为独身的；还有些独身者是为了天国的缘故自己成为独身的。谁能接受，就接受吧。”

For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others— and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

Some men are not able to have children because they were born that way. Some have been made that way by other people. Others have chosen to live that way in order to serve the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”

我願你們一無掛慮。沒有結婚的是為主的事掛慮，想怎樣令主喜悅；結了婚的是為世上的事掛慮，想怎樣讓妻子喜悅，於是，他就分心了。沒有結婚的和未婚的女子是為主的事掛慮，為要身體和心靈都聖潔；已經出嫁的是為世上的事掛慮，想怎樣讓丈夫喜悅。我說這話是為你們的益處，不是要限制你們，而是要你們做合宜的事，得以不分心地對主忠誠。若有人認為自己待他的女兒不合宜，女兒也過了適婚年齡，他可以隨意處理，不算有罪，讓兩人結婚就是了。倘若有人心裏堅定，沒有不得已的事，並且由得自己作主，心裏又決定了不讓女兒結婚，這樣做也好。這樣看來，讓自己的女兒結婚固然是好，不讓她結婚更好。

難道我們沒有權利帶着信主的妻子一起出入，如同其餘的使徒，和主的兄弟們，和磯法一樣嗎？

與耶和華聯合的外邦人不要說：「耶和華將我和他的子民分別出來。」太監也不要說：「看哪，我是枯樹。」因為耶和華如此說：「那些謹守我的安息日，選擇我旨意，持守我約的太監，

從你本身所生的孩子，其中必有被擄到巴比倫王宮當太監的。』」

但這權利我全然沒有用過。我寫這些話，並非要你們這樣待我，因為我寧可死也不讓人使我所誇的落了空。
