就是说，有些独身者是生来如此的；有些独身者是别人使他们成为独身的；还有些独身者是为了天国的缘故自己成为独身的。谁能接受，就接受吧。”

For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others— and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

Some men are not able to have children because they were born that way. Some have been made that way by other people. Others have chosen to live that way in order to serve the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”

Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others, and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.”

For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb, there are eunuchs who were made by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves that way because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to accept it should accept it.”

總之、予欲爾無憂無慮也。無妻者能專心事主、惟求取悅於主；有妻者則注意世故、兼欲取悅於妻、則分心矣。無夫者及處女、亦能專心事主、惟求神形之聖潔，有夫者則注意世故、兼欲取悅於夫矣。吾作是語、為爾之益、不欲納爾於陷穽之中、乃欲導爾於康莊之路；庶得無阻無礙、從容事主耳。倘有閨女、年已及笄、其父斟酌情形、若不速嫁、將貽其羞、則可權宜處置、俾成眷屬、亦不為過。若無必要、其父如能堅定心意、按其力之所及、使其女得常為童貞、斯為美矣。總之、嫁其女善也；不嫁其女、則更善矣。

又豈無權攜一奉主之婦人出門傳道、一如其他宗徒、與主之諸弟、以及基法之所為耶？

顧我本人迄未利用此制；吾之書此、亦非欲為己有所主張。何則、我寧死、不願人毀我之榮也。
