His disciples said to Him,“ If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”

他的门徒们对耶稣说：“如果丈夫与妻子的关系是这样，结婚就没有益处了。”

門徒對耶穌說：「人和妻子既是這樣，倒不如不娶。」

他的門徒們對耶穌說：「如果丈夫與妻子的關係是這樣，結婚就沒有益處了。」

門徒曰、人於妻如此、寧勿娶、

門徒曰：『若夫妻關係、嚴格乃爾、則不如不娶之為善矣。』

The disciples said to him,“ If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”

Here is what the disciples said to him.“ If that’s the way it is between a husband and wife, it is better not to get married.”

The disciples said to him,“ If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”

Jesus’ disciples then said to him,“ If this is the case, it is better not to marry!”

His disciples said to him,“ If the relationship of a man with his wife is like this, it’s better not to marry.”

The disciples* said to Him,“ If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.”

The disciples say unto him, If the case of the man is so with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.

His disciples said to Him,“ If the relationship of a man with his wife is like this, it’s better not to marry!”

His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with[ his] wife, it is not good to marry.

The disciples said to him,“ If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”

His disciples said to him,“ If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.”

But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;

I suppose therefore that this is good because of the present distress— that it is good for a man to remain as he is:Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife.But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Nevertheless such will have trouble in the flesh, but I would spare you.

forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.

Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Better to dwell in the wilderness, Than with a contentious and angry woman.

But refuse the younger widows; for when they have begun to grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,having condemnation because they have cast off their first faith.And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.Therefore I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully.For some have already turned aside after Satan.

Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well.Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets?Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you.Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth.As a loving deer and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; And always be enraptured with her love.

A foolish son is the ruin of his father, And the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord.

A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.But she is happier if she remains as she is, according to my judgment— and I think I also have the Spirit of God.

But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord— how he may please the Lord.But he who is married cares about the things of the world— how he may please his wife.There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world— how she may please her husband.And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction.

And the Lord God said,“ It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
