我雖然是自由的，不受人管轄，但我甘心作了眾人的僕人，為贏得更多的人。對猶太人，我就作猶太人，為要贏得猶太人；對律法以下的人，我雖不在律法以下，還是作律法以下的人，為要贏得律法以下的人。對沒有律法的人，我就作沒有律法的人，為要贏得沒有律法的人；其實我在神面前，不是沒有律法，而是在基督的律法之下。對軟弱的人，我就作軟弱的人，為要贏得軟弱的人。對甚麼樣的人，我就作甚麼樣的人。無論如何我總要救一些人。

可是，你們要謹慎，免得你們這自由竟成了軟弱人的絆腳石。

我們不在任何事上妨礙任何人，免得這使命被人毀謗；

你們知道我們主耶穌基督的恩典：他本是富足，卻為你們成了貧窮，好使你們因他的貧窮而成為富足。

無論是吃肉是喝酒，是甚麼別的事，使弟兄跌倒，一概不做，才是善的。

所以，食物若使我的弟兄跌倒，我就永遠不吃肉，免得使我的弟兄跌倒了。

我們堅強的人應該分擔不堅強的人的軟弱，不求自己的喜悅。我們各人務必要讓鄰人喜悅，使他得益處，得造就。因為基督也不求自己的喜悅，如經上所記：「辱罵你的人的辱罵都落在我身上。」

你要喝那溪裏的水，我已吩咐烏鴉在那裏供養你。」

當時，門徒進前來對他說：「法利賽人聽見這話很反感，你知道嗎？」耶穌回答：「一切植物，若不是我天父栽植的，都要連根拔出來。由他們吧！他們是瞎子作瞎子的嚮導；若是瞎子領瞎子，兩個人都要掉在坑裏。」

耶和華安排一條大魚吞下約拿，約拿在魚腹中三日三夜。

神賜福給他們，神對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿這地，治理它；要管理海裏的魚、天空的鳥和地上各樣活動的生物。」

你們不要使猶太人、希臘人，或神教會中的人跌倒；但要像我一樣，凡事都使眾人喜歡，不求自己的益處，只求眾人的益處，使他們得救。

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，神豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人，使他們在信心上富足，並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎？

耶和華吩咐那魚，魚就把約拿吐在陸地上。

各樣惡事要禁戒。

耶穌心裏知道門徒為這話私下議論，就對他們說：「這話成了你們的絆腳石嗎？

你使他暫時比天使微小，賜他榮耀尊貴為冠冕，你派他管理你手所造的，使萬物都服在他的腳下。」既然使萬物都服他，就沒有剩下一樣不服他的了。只是如今我們還不見萬物都服他；

你要顯出自己是好行為的榜樣，在教導上要正直、莊重，言語健全，無可指責，使那反對的人，因說不出我們有甚麼不好而自覺羞愧。
