He answered them,“ Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

耶穌回答他們，說：「你們為什麼為了你們的傳統而違犯神的命令呢？

曰爾何因爾遺傳、犯上帝誡乎、

答曰、爾何因爾遺傳犯天主之誡乎、

耶穌答曰：『爾等以遺規而違犯天主誡命、則又何說？蓋天主曰：

He answered them,“ And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

These things indeed appear like wisdom in self- imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body; but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
