乃相與入室、餐時、耶穌持餅祝謝、剖而授之、

葆樂作是語畢、即持餅於眾前、申謝天主、擘而食之、

蓋天主所造皆善、固無有一物可以暴棄也。惟受之者當飲水思源耳。憑天主之聖言、及吾人之祈禱、萬物皆成聖潔矣。

是故飲食舉止、皆須以天主之光榮為前提。

眾乃移石。耶穌仰視曰：『感荷聖父垂聽、予固知予有所求、父莫不應也。

彼守日者、為主而守之也。食者為主而食、且致謝於天主焉；齋戒者為主而齋戒、亦致謝於天主焉。

耶穌諭徒令眾成列、席草而坐、

方食、耶穌持餅、剖而授徒曰：『爾等食之、此吾體也、』更舉杯祝謝、復授之曰：『爾盡飲是、

祝而分之、曰：此乃吾體、為爾等所捨者；爾等當行此禮、以誌永懷。

乃令眾席地坐、持七餅、祝謝後、分授諸徒、以施于眾。諸徒乃置之眾前。復有小魚數尾、祝謝畢、亦令陳之。

凡所言所行、皆須以主耶穌名義為之、且因彼而致謝於天主聖父焉。

同時有數艇來自諦比略、泊近耶穌所嘗祝謝而以餅食眾之處。

又持餅祝謝、剖而授徒曰：『此乃吾體、為爾舍者、爾當恆行此典、以誌永懷。』

仰天嘆曰：『伊咈大、』譯言、『啟。』

耶穌乃持五餅二魚、仰天祈祝、剖而授徒、陳之眾前；

耶穌曰：『令眾坐。』其地有草如茵、眾即席地而坐、數約五千。耶穌取餅祝謝、分與坐眾、各隨所欲、魚亦如之。

夫吾人所聖之寶爵、非吾人共飲之基督聖血乎？吾人所分之餅、又非吾人共領之基督聖體乎？

食間、耶穌持餅、祝而剖之、分授諸徒曰：『食之、此吾體也！』復舉爵、祝謝天恩、授諸徒、徒皆飲之。

蓋當時人數不下五千、耶穌乃諭其徒曰：『令眾列坐、每列五十。』

乃命眾席地坐、持七餅及小魚、祝謝畢、剖而授徒、徒以授眾；
