This is why I speak to them in parables:“ Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

Here is why I use stories when I speak to the people. I say,“ They look, but they don’t really see. They listen, but they don’t really hear or understand.

「人子啊，你住在叛逆的人當中。他們有眼睛卻視而不見，有耳朵卻聽而不聞，因為他們是叛逆的人。

『聽著，你們這群愚昧無知的人啊，你們視而不見，聽而不聞。

然而，即使我們所傳的福音被遮蔽，也是在那些滅亡的人當中被遮蔽。那些不信的人是被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼，以致看不見基督榮耀的福音之光。基督是上帝的本像。

他們愚昧無知，因為眼睛被封住以致看不見，心竅被塞住以致不明白。

光來到世上，世人因為自己的行為邪惡而不愛光，反愛黑暗，這就是他們被定罪的原因。作惡的人恨光，不肯接近光，恐怕他們的罪行暴露出來。

耶穌說：「我為了審判來到這世界，使瞎眼的可以看見，使看得見的反成了瞎眼的。」有些跟祂在一起的法利賽人聽了這句話，就問：「難道我們也瞎了眼嗎？」耶穌說：「如果你們是瞎眼的，就沒有罪了。但現在你們自稱看得見，所以你們的罪還在。」

怎樣降下巨大的災難，行偉大的神蹟奇事。但耶和華至今還沒有賜給你們能明白的心、能看見的眼、能聽清的耳。

「耳聾的人啊，聽吧！眼瞎的人啊，看吧！有誰比我的僕人更瞎，比我差遣的使者更聾呢？有誰像那些與我立約的人那樣瞎呢？有誰像耶和華的僕人那樣瞎呢？你們看見許多事卻不領會，耳朵開著卻聽不見。」

「但你們的眼睛是有福的，因為看得見；你們的耳朵也是有福的，因為聽得見。

耶穌知道他們的心思，就說：「你們為什麼議論沒有帶餅的事呢？難道你們還不明白、不領悟嗎？你們的心還是愚頑嗎？你們有眼不會看，有耳不會聽嗎？你們不記得嗎？
