耶穌又進了會堂，在那裏有一個人，他的一隻手萎縮了。眾人為了要控告耶穌，就窺探他會不會在安息日醫治那人。耶穌對那手萎縮了的人說：「起來站在當中！」他又問眾人：「在安息日行善行惡，救命害命，哪樣是合法的呢？」他們都不作聲。耶穌怒目環視他們，因他們的心剛硬而憂傷，就對那人說：「伸出手來！」他把手一伸，手就復原了。法利賽人出去，立刻同希律一黨的人商議怎樣除掉耶穌。

又有一個安息日，耶穌進了會堂教導人，在那裏有一個人，他的右手萎縮了。文士和法利賽人窺探耶穌會不會在安息日治病，為要找把柄告他。耶穌卻知道他們的意念，就對那萎縮了手的人說：「起來，站在當中！」那人就起來，站着。耶穌對他們說：「我問你們，在安息日行善行惡，救命害命，哪樣是合法的呢？」他就環視眾人，對那人說：「伸出手來！」他照着做，他的手就復原了。他們怒氣填胸，彼此商議怎樣對付耶穌。
