耶稣又进了会堂，在那里有一个人，他的一只手萎缩了。众人为了要控告耶稣，就窥探他会不会在安息日医治那人。耶稣对那手萎缩了的人说：“起来站在当中！”他又问众人：“在安息日行善行恶，救命害命，哪样是合法的呢？”他们都不作声。耶稣怒目环视他们，因他们的心刚硬而忧伤，就对那人说：“伸出手来！”他把手一伸，手就复原了。法利赛人出去，立刻同希律一党的人商议怎样除掉耶稣。

又有一个安息日，耶稣进了会堂教导人，在那里有一个人，他的右手萎缩了。文士和法利赛人窥探耶稣会不会在安息日治病，为要找把柄告他。耶稣却知道他们的意念，就对那萎缩了手的人说：“起来，站在当中！”那人就起来，站着。耶稣对他们说：“我问你们，在安息日行善行恶，救命害命，哪样是合法的呢？”他就环视众人，对那人说：“伸出手来！”他照着做，他的手就复原了。他们怒气填胸，彼此商议怎样对付耶稣。
