蝮類乎、爾既惡、言何能善、蓋充諸心者、出諸口也、

蝮類乎、爾既惡、言豈能善、蓋有諸心者、言諸口也、

蝮類乎、爾既為惡、言豈能善、蓋充諸心者出諸口也、

嗟爾蝮種、本性既惡、言何能善。蓋有蘊於心、口則宣之。

You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

You nest of poisonous snakes! How can you who are evil say anything good? Your mouths say everything that is in your hearts.

You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.

Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.

You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, express any good things? For the mouth speaks from that which fills the heart.

Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!And the tongue[ is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:But the tongue can no man tame;[ it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.Their throat[ is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps[ is] under their lips:Whose mouth[ is] full of cursing and bitterness:

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Ye are of[ your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

Which imagine mischiefs in[ their] heart; continually are they gathered together[ for] war.They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison[ is] under their lips. Selah.

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for[ I shall] never[ be] in adversity.His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue[ is] mischief and vanity.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

Who whet their tongue like a sword,[ and] bend[ their bows to shoot] their arrows,[ even] bitter words:

The fool hath said in his heart,[ There is] no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity:[ there is] none that doeth good.

[ Ye] serpents,[ ye] generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

None calleth for justice, nor[ any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips,[ and] from a deceitful tongue.What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.Thou lovest evil more than good;[ and] lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.Thou lovest all devouring words, O[ thou] deceitful tongue.God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of[ thy] dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

Stand in the gate of the LORD’S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all[ ye of] Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD,[ are] these.For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;

They encourage themselves[ in] an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
