耶穌對他說：「我就是道路、真理、生命；若不藉着我，沒有人能到父那裏去。既然你們認識了我，也會認識我的父。從今以後，你們就認識他，並且已經看見他了。」腓力對他說：「主啊，將父顯給我們看，我們就知足了。」耶穌對他說：「腓力，我與你們在一起這麼久了，你還不認識我嗎？看見我的就是看見了父，你怎麼還說『將父顯給我們看』呢？

耶穌進前來，對他們說：「天上地下所有的權柄都賜給我了。

一切都是我父交給我的。除了父，沒有人知道子是誰；除了子和子所願意啟示的人，沒有人知道父是誰。」

公義的父啊，世人未曾認識你，我卻認識你，這些人也知道是你差我來的。我已讓他們認識你的名，還要讓他們認識，好讓你愛我的愛在他們裏面，我也在他們裏面。」

正如父認識我，我也認識父一樣；並且我為羊捨命。

我們知道，我們是屬上帝的，而全世界都伏在那邪惡者的權勢之下。我們知道，上帝的兒子已經來到，並且將悟性賜給我們，使我們認識那位真實者，我們也在那位真實者裏面，就是在他兒子耶穌基督裏面。這是真神，也是永生。

凡不認子的，就沒有父；宣認子的，連父也有了。

這不是說有人看見過父，惟獨從上帝來的，他才看見過父。

父愛子，已把萬有交在他手裏。

使一切在天上的、地上的和地底下的，因耶穌的名，眾膝都要跪下，眾口都要宣認：耶穌基督是主，歸榮耀給父上帝。

我卻認識他，因為我從他那裏來，是他差遣了我。」

從來沒有人見過上帝，只有在父懷裏獨一的兒子將他表明出來。

因為你曾賜給他權柄掌管凡血肉之軀的，使他把永生賜給你所賜給他的人。認識你－獨一的真神，並且認識你所差來的耶穌基督，這就是永生。

「你從世上賜給我的人，我已把你的名顯明給他們。他們本是你的，你把他們賜給我，他們也遵守了你的道。

耶穌知道父已把萬有交在他手裏，且知道自己是從上帝出來的，又要回到上帝那裏去，

父怎樣叫死人復活，賜他們生命，子也照樣隨自己的意願賜人生命。父不審判任何人，而是把審判的事全交給子，為要使人都尊敬子，如同尊敬父一樣。不尊敬子的，就是不尊敬差子來的父。「我實實在在地告訴你們，那聽我話又信差我來那位的，就有永生，不至於被定罪，而是已經出死入生了。我實實在在地告訴你們，時候將到，現在就是了，死人要聽見上帝兒子的聲音，聽見的人就要活了。因為父怎樣自己裏面有生命，也照樣賜給他兒子自己裏面有生命，並且賜給他施行審判的權柄，因為他是人子。你們不要對這事感到驚訝，因為時候將到，凡在墳墓裏的，都要聽見他的聲音，並且要出來：行善的，復活得生命；作惡的，復活被定罪。

使萬物都服在他的腳下。」既然使萬物都服他，就沒有剩下一樣不服他的了。只是如今我們還不見萬物都服他；惟獨見那成為暫時比天使微小的耶穌，因為受了死的痛苦，得了尊貴榮耀為冠冕，好使他因着上帝的恩，為人人經歷了死亡。原來那為萬物所屬、為萬物所本的，為要領許多兒子進入榮耀，使救他們的元帥因受苦難而得以完全，本是合宜的。

耶穌已經到天上去，在上帝的右邊，眾天使、有權柄的、有權能的都服從了他。

這大能曾運行在基督身上，使他從死人中復活，又使他在天上坐在自己的右邊，遠超越一切執政的、掌權的、有權能的、統治的和一切有名號的；不但是今世的，連來世的也都超越了。上帝使萬有服在他的腳下，又使他為了教會作萬有之首；教會是他的身體，是那充滿萬有者所充滿的。

因為基督必須掌權，等上帝把一切仇敵都放在他的腳下。他要毀滅的最後仇敵就是死亡。因為經上說：「上帝使萬物都服在他的腳下。」既然說萬物都服了他，那使萬物屈服的，很明顯地是不在其內了。
