Many of them said,“ He has a demon, and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”

The multitude answered,“ You have a demon! Who seeks to kill you?”

but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

“ Yahweh has made you priest in the place of Jehoiada the priest, that there may be officers in Yahweh’s house, for every man who is crazy, and makes himself a prophet, that you should put him in the stocks and in shackles.

The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.

As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice,“ Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!”

I didn’t sit in the assembly of those who make merry and rejoice. I sat alone because of your hand, for you have filled me with indignation.

“ You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.”For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says:“ Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
