and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,

And Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon. Solomon’s mother had been Uriah’s wife.

and Jesse the father of David the king. And David was the father of Solomon by the wife of Uriah,

Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon( whose mother was Bathsheba, the widow of Uriah).

and Jesse fathered King David. David fathered Solomon by Uriah’s wife,

Jesse fathered David the king. David fathered Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

and Jesse fathered King David. Then David fathered Solomon by Uriah’s wife,

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her[ that had been the wife] of Urias;

and Jesse the father of David the king. David was the father of Solomon( by the wife of Uriah),

Jesse became the father of King David. David became the father of Solomon by her who had been Uriah’s wife.

Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Beth- lehem- judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man was an old man in the days of Saul, stricken in years among men.

And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth- lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

And David comforted Bath- sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon. And Jehovah loved him;and he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, for Jehovah’s sake.

And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she made lamentation for her husband.And when the mourning was past, David sent and took her home to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased Jehovah.

and these were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bath- shua the daughter of Ammiel;

And these are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he is keeping the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him; for we will not sit down till he come hither.And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look upon. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him; for this is he.Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

Then Saul’s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of a perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own shame, and unto the shame of thy mother’s nakedness?For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.

The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

Ozem the sixth, David the seventh;

that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that discloseth to me when my son maketh a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or discloseth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

And of all my sons( for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel.

and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.

Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, And the man who was raised on high saith, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel:

And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Beth- lehemite.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

And David send and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath- sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king; to whom also he bare witness and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who shall do all my will.Of this man’s seed hath God according to promise brought unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus;

Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.

And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit.

Then Nathan spake unto Bath- sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thy handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the king, I also will come in after thee, and confirm thy words.And Bath- sheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite was ministering unto the king.And Bath- sheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou?And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by Jehovah thy God unto thy handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

Then king David answered and said, Call to me Bath- sheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the king.And the king sware, and said, As Jehovah liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,verily as I sware unto thee by Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; verily so will I do this day.Then Bath- sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did obeisance to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

because David did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
