But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

for the great day of his wrath has come; and who is able to stand?”

For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient,“ The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”and,“ a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.

See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,

That which Israel seeks for, that he didn’t obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened.According as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”David says,“ Let their table be made a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see. Always keep their backs bent.”

A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

“ Come now, and let’s reason together,” says Yahweh:“ Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me,” says the Lord Yahweh.

Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

They said,“ Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say,‘ I have come down out of heaven?’”Therefore Jesus answered them,“ Don’t murmur among yourselves.No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

“ Woe to you who desire the day of Yahweh! Why do you long for the day of Yahweh? It is darkness, and not light.As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; Or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.Won’t the day of Yahweh be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

I will tell of the decree: Yahweh said to me,“ You are my son. Today I have become your father.

Even now the ax also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.”

Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him;lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.

I told him,“ My lord, you know.” He said to me,“ These are those who came out of the great suffering. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.

Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him,“ The first.” Jesus said to them,“ Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. There was a man who was a master of a household, who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a wine press in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.When the season for the fruit came near, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive his fruit.The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they treated them the same way.But afterward he sent to them his son, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them,“ You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!Don’t think to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham for our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.“ Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in, and sat at the table.When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.The Lord said to him,“ Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and God’s love. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”One of the lawyers answered him,“ Teacher, in saying this you insult us also.”He said,“ Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
