“ You have spoken arrogantly against me,” says the Lord.“ Yet you ask,‘ What have we said against you?’

耶和华说：“你们用话顶撞我，你们还说：‘我们用什么话顶撞了你呢？’

耶和华说：“你们用话顶撞我。”你们却说：“我们说了什么话顶撞你呢？”

耶和华说：“你们用话顶撞我。”你们却说：“我们说了什么话顶撞你呢？”

耶和华说：“你们出言毁谤我，还问，‘我们怎么毁谤你了？’

耶和华说：“你们用无礼的话顶撞我。你们还问：‘我们用什么话顶撞了你呢？’

耶和华说：“你们用话语顶撞我，还问：‘我们是怎么用话语顶撞你的呢？’

耶和華說：「你們用話頂撞我，你們還說：『我們用甚麼話頂撞了你呢？』

耶和華說：「你們用話頂撞我。」你們卻說：「我們說了甚麼話頂撞你呢？」

耶和華說：「你們用話頂撞我。」你們卻說：「我們說了甚麼話頂撞你呢？」

耶和華說：「你們出言譭謗我，還問，『我們怎麼譭謗你了？』

耶和華說：“你們用無禮的話頂撞我。你們還問：‘我們用甚麼話頂撞了你呢？’

永恆主說：『你們的話說得很硬來頂撞我；你們卻還問說：「我們說甚麼話來頂撞你呢？」

耶和華說：「你們用話語頂撞我，還問：『我們是怎麼用話語頂撞你的呢？』

耶和華曰、爾以狂悖之言逆我、乃曰、我以何言逆爾乎、

耶和華曰、爾出言不遜、違逆乎我、爾曰、予以何詞悖爾哉、

主曰、爾出言不遜、爾出言不遜或作爾以狂悖之言議論我、爾曰、我以何詞議論主乎、

“ You have spoken with pride against me,” says the Lord.“ But you ask,‘ What have we spoken against you?’

“ Your words have been hard against me, says the Lord. But you say,‘ How have we spoken against you?’

“ You have said terrible things about me,” says the Lord.“ But you say,‘ What do you mean? What have we said against you?’

“ Your words against me are harsh,” says the LORD. Yet you ask,“ What have we spoken against you?”

“ Your words have been arrogant against Me,” says the Lord.“ Yet you say,‘ What have we spoken against You?’

“ Your words have been harsh against Me,” Says the Lord,“ Yet you say,‘ What have we spoken against You?’

Your words have been stout against me, saith Jehovah. Yet ye say, What have we spoken against thee?

“ Your words against Me are harsh,” says the Lord. Yet you ask:“ What have we spoken against You?”

Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken[ so much] against thee?

“ You have criticized me sharply,” says the LORD,“ but you ask,‘ How have we criticized you?’

“ Your words have been stout against me,” says Yahweh.“ Yet you say,‘ What have we spoken against you?’

You have wearied the Lord with your words.“ How have we wearied him?” you ask. By saying,“ All who do evil are good in the eyes of the Lord, and he is pleased with them” or“ Where is the God of justice?”

“ Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?

Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!

But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?“ Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,‘ Why did you make me like this?’”

He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”

He says to himself,“ God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.”

Is there anyone like Job, who drinks scorn like water?He keeps company with evildoers; he associates with the wicked.

Who of all the gods of these nations that my predecessors destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god deliver you from my hand?Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you and mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my predecessors. How much less will your god deliver you from my hand!”Sennacherib’s officers spoke further against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah.The king also wrote letters ridiculing the Lord, the God of Israel, and saying this against him:“ Just as the gods of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand.”Then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city.They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world— the work of human hands.

to those who say,“ Let God hurry; let him hasten his work so we may see it. The plan of the Holy One of Israel— let it approach, let it come into view, so we may know it.”

Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when they are punished, says the Lord.

“ Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.“ But you ask,‘ How are we robbing you?’“ In tithes and offerings.

You ask,“ Why?” It is because the Lord is the witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.

Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.You boast,“ We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.”

“ A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the Lord Almighty.“ It is you priests who show contempt for my name.“ But you ask,‘ How have we shown contempt for your name?’“ By offering defiled food on my altar.“ But you ask,‘ How have we defiled you?’“ By saying that the Lord’s table is contemptible.When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.
