耶和華－以色列的神說：「我恨惡休妻的事和衣服外面披上暴力的人。所以當謹守你們的心，不可行詭詐。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

耶和華以色列的神說：「我實在恨惡休妻的事，也恨惡那用殘暴遮蓋自己衣袍的人！」萬軍之耶和華說：「你們當謹守自己的心靈，不可背信。」

“ The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

“ Suppose a man hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord God of Israel.“ Then he is harming the one he should protect,” says the Lord who rules over all. So be careful. And don’t be unfaithful.

“ For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

“ For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel.“ To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”

“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Armies. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

“ For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ and him who covers his garment with violence,” says the Lord of armies.“ So be careful about your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

“ For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”

For I hate putting away, saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith Jehovah of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for[ one] covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

“ I hate divorce,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ and the one who is guilty of violence,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ Pay attention to your conscience, and do not be unfaithful.”

One who hates and divorces”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel,“ covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.

凡休妻另娶的，就是犯姦淫；娶被丈夫休了的婦人的，也是犯姦淫。」

「又有話說：『無論誰休妻，都要給她休書。』但是我告訴你們：凡休妻的，除非是因不貞的緣故，否則就是使她犯姦淫了；人若娶被休的婦人，也是犯姦淫了。」

有些法利賽人來試探耶穌說：「無論甚麼緣故，人休妻都合法嗎？」耶穌回答：「那起初造人的，是造男造女，並且說：『因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。』這經文你們沒有念過嗎？

有法利賽人來問他說：「男人休妻合不合法？」意思是要試探他。耶穌回答他們說：「摩西吩咐你們的是甚麼？」他們說：「摩西准許寫了休書就可以休妻。」耶穌對他們說：「摩西因為你們的心硬，所以寫這誡命給你們。但從起初創造的時候，神造人是造男造女。因此，人要離開他的父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。既然如此，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體的了。所以，神配合的，人不可分開。」他們到了屋裏，門徒又問他這事。耶穌對他們說：「凡休妻另娶的，就是犯姦淫，辜負他的妻子；妻子若離棄丈夫另嫁，也是犯姦淫了。」

耶和華如此說：「我休了你們的母親，她的休書在哪裏呢？我將你們賣給了我哪一個債主呢？看哪，你們被賣是因你們的罪孽；你們的母親被休，是因你們的過犯。

遮掩自己過犯的，必不順利；承認且離棄過犯的，必蒙憐憫。

所結的網不能當衣服，無法掩蓋自己所作所為。他們的行為全是邪惡，手所做的盡都殘暴。

「人若娶妻，作了她的丈夫，發現她有不合宜的事不喜歡她，而寫休書交在她手中，打發她離開夫家，婦人若離開夫家以後，去嫁別人，後夫若恨惡她，寫休書交在她手中，打發她離開夫家，又或者娶她為妻的後夫死了，那休她的前夫就不可在婦人玷污之後再娶她為妻，因為這是耶和華所憎惡的。不可使耶和華－你神所賜為業之地蒙受玷污。

地上的虔誠人滅盡了，人世間已無正直的人；他們都埋伏，為要流人的血，用羅網獵取自己的弟兄。他們雙手善於作惡，君王和審判官都索取賄賂；位高的人吐出心中的慾望，彼此勾結。

床榻短，人不能伸展；被子窄，人無從裹身。
