“ ‘ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?’ says the Lord of armies to you, the priests who despise My name! But you say,‘ How have we despised Your name?’

“藐视我名的祭司啊，万军之耶和华对你们说：儿子尊敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人；我既为父亲，尊敬我的在哪里呢？我既为主人，敬畏我的在哪里呢？你们却说：‘我们在何事上藐视你的名呢？’

万军之耶和华对你们说：“儿子孝敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人；我既为父亲，孝敬我的在哪里呢？我既为主人，敬畏我的在哪里呢？你们这些藐视我名的祭司啊！”你们却说：“我们在何事上藐视你的名呢？”

万军之耶和华对你们说：“儿子孝敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人；我既为父亲，孝敬我的在哪里呢？我既为主人，敬畏我的在哪里呢？你们这些藐视我名的祭司啊！”你们却说：“我们在何事上藐视你的名呢？”

万军之耶和华对祭司说：“儿子应当尊敬父亲，仆人应当敬畏主人。我是你们的父亲，但你们对我的尊敬在哪里呢？我是你们的主人，但你们对我的敬畏在哪里呢？你们藐视我的名，却狡辩说，‘我们在何事上藐视过你的名呢？’

万军之耶和华对你们说：“藐视我名的祭司啊！儿子尊敬父亲，仆人敬畏主人。我若是父亲，我该受的尊敬在哪里呢？我若是主人，我应得的敬畏在哪里呢？”你们却说：“我们怎样藐视了你的名呢？”

藐视我名的祭司们哪，万军之耶和华对你们说：“儿子尊敬父亲，仆人敬畏他的主人。我既是父亲，我当受的尊敬在哪里呢？我既是主人，我当受的敬畏在哪里呢？你们竟然问：‘我们是怎么藐视你名的呢？’

「藐視我名的祭司啊，萬軍之耶和華對你們說：兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏主人；我既為父親，尊敬我的在哪裏呢？我既為主人，敬畏我的在哪裏呢？你們卻說：『我們在何事上藐視你的名呢？』

萬軍之耶和華對你們說：「兒子孝敬父親，僕人敬畏主人；我既為父親，孝敬我的在哪裏呢？我既為主人，敬畏我的在哪裏呢？你們這些藐視我名的祭司啊！」你們卻說：「我們在何事上藐視你的名呢？」

萬軍之耶和華對你們說：「兒子孝敬父親，僕人敬畏主人；我既為父親，孝敬我的在哪裏呢？我既為主人，敬畏我的在哪裏呢？你們這些藐視我名的祭司啊！」你們卻說：「我們在何事上藐視你的名呢？」

萬軍之耶和華對祭司說：「兒子應當尊敬父親，僕人應當敬畏主人。我是你們的父親，但你們對我的尊敬在哪裡呢？我是你們的主人，但你們對我的敬畏在哪裡呢？你們藐視我的名，卻狡辯說，『我們在何事上藐視過你的名呢？』

萬軍之耶和華對你們說：“藐視我名的祭司啊！兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏主人。我若是父親，我該受的尊敬在哪裡呢？我若是主人，我應得的敬畏在哪裡呢？”你們卻說：“我們怎樣藐視了你的名呢？”

『藐視我名的祭司啊，萬軍之永恆主對你們說：兒子孝敬父親，奴僕敬畏主人。我既是做父親，我在哪裏得到孝敬呢？我既是做主人，我在哪裏得到敬畏呢？而你們竟說：「我們在甚麼事上藐視你的名呢？」

藐視我名的祭司們哪，萬軍之耶和華對你們說：「兒子尊敬父親，僕人敬畏他的主人。我既是父親，我當受的尊敬在哪裡呢？我既是主人，我當受的敬畏在哪裡呢？你們竟然問：『我們是怎麼藐視你名的呢？』

萬軍之耶和華曰、輕視我名之祭司歟、子尊其父、僕尊其主、我若為父、尊我者安在、我若為主、畏我者安在、爾曰、我於何事輕視爾名乎、

萬有之主耶和華、告侮慢之祭司曰、子敬父、僕敬主、我既為父、爾奚不敬、我既為主、爾奚不畏、乃爾曰、何嘗侮爾哉、

我萬有之主告爾褻慢我名之祭司曰、子敬父、奴敬主、我既為父、爾何不敬我、我既為主、爾何不畏我、我既為父爾何不敬我我既為主爾何不畏我或作我既為父爾敬我者安在我既為主爾畏我者安在乃爾曰、我於何處於何處或作何嘗褻慢主之名乎、

“ A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the Lord Almighty.“ It is you priests who show contempt for my name.“ But you ask,‘ How have we shown contempt for your name?’

“ A son honors his father. A slave honors his master. If I am a father, where is the honor I should have? If I am a master, where is the respect you should give me?” says the Lord who rules over all.“ You priests look down on me.“ But you ask,‘ How have we looked down on you?’

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say,‘ How have we despised your name?’

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests:“ A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve? You have shown contempt for my name!“ But you ask,‘ How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of me? says the LORD of Armies to you priests, who despise my name.” Yet you ask,“ How have we despised your name?”

“ A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say,‘ In what way have we despised Your name?’

A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I am a father, where is mine honor? and if I am a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of Me? says Yahweh of Hosts to you priests, who despise My name.” Yet you ask:“ How have we despised Your name?”

A son honoureth[ his] father, and a servant his master: if then I[ be] a father, where[ is] mine honour? and if I[ be] a master, where[ is] my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

“ A son naturally honors his father and a slave respects his master. If I am your father, where is my honor? If I am your master, where is my respect? The LORD who rules over all asks you this, you priests who make light of my name! But you reply,‘ How have we made light of your name?’

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says Yahweh of Armies to you, priests, who despise my name. You say,‘ How have we despised your name?’

“ Now why do you call Me,‘ Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

“ Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.

Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are harsh.For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person endures grief when suffering unjustly.

Listen, heavens, and hear, earth; For the Lord has spoken:“ Sons I have raised and brought up, But they have revolted against Me.

You call Me‘ Teacher’ and‘ Lord’; and you are correct, for so I am.So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.For I gave you an example, so that you also would do just as I did for you.Truly, truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.

If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth;

And Ephraim said,“ I have certainly become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors they will find in me No wrongdoing, which would be sin.”

“ Your words have been arrogant against Me,” says the Lord.“ Yet you say,‘ What have we spoken against You?’You have said,‘ It is pointless to serve God; and what benefit is it for us that we have done what He required, and that we have walked in mourning before the Lord of armies?

Yet you say,“ For what reason?” Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your marriage companion and your wife by covenant.But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And why the one? He was seeking a godly offspring. Be careful then about your spirit, and see that none of you deals treacherously against the wife of your youth.“ For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ and him who covers his garment with violence,” says the Lord of armies.“ So be careful about your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say,“ How have we wearied Him?” In that you say,“ Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them,” or,“ Where is the God of justice?”

But now, Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter, And all of us are the work of Your hand.

The eye that mocks a father And scorns a mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young eagles will eat it.

Honor your father and mother( which is the first commandment with a promise),

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Since you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children.

For Moses said,‘ Honor your father and your mother’; and,‘ The one who speaks evil of father or mother, is certainly to be put to death’;

Urge slaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be pleasing, not argumentative,not stealing, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.

“ Not everyone who says to Me,‘ Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

For God said,‘ Honor your father and mother,’ and,‘ The one who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.’

“ Pray, then, in this way:‘ Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and you shall keep My Sabbaths; I am the Lord your God.

Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

You know the commandments:‘ Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’ ”

But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have ruined the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of armies.

“ From the days of your fathers you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of armies.“ But you say,‘ How shall we return?’“ Would anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say,‘ How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.

They will come with weeping, And by pleading I will bring them; I will lead them by streams of waters, On a straight path on which they will not stumble; For I am a father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn.”

Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, you of the house of the king! For the judgment applies to you, Because you have been a trap at Mizpah, And a net spread out on Tabor.

Her priests have done violence to My Law and have profaned My holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, and they have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have closed their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am defiled among them.

There is a kind of person who curses his father And does not bless his mother.

he is not to honor his father or mother.’ And by this you have invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

You know the commandments,‘ Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Honor your father and mother.’ ”

‘ Honor your father and your mother, just as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well for you on the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Then you shall say to Pharaoh,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Israel is My son, My firstborn.So I said to you,‘ Let My son go so that he may serve Me’; but you have refused to let him go. Behold, I am going to kill your son, your firstborn.” ’ ”

Yet I planted you as a choice vine, A completely faithful seed. How then have you turned yourself before Me Into the degenerate shoots of a foreign vine?Although you wash yourself with lye And use much soap, The stain of your guilt is before Me,” declares the Lord God.

“ For both prophet and priest are defiled; Even in My house I have found their wickedness,” declares the Lord.

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

“ An appalling and horrible thing Has happened in the land:The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it this way! But what will you do when the end comes?

All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against.Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brothers or sisters, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.

Did I not choose them from all the tribes of Israel to be My priests, to go up to My altar, to burn incense, to carry an ephod before Me? And did I not give to the house of your father all the fire offerings of the sons of Israel?Why are you showing contempt for My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded for My dwelling, and why are you honoring your sons above Me, by making yourselves fat with the choicest of every offering of My people Israel?’Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares,‘ I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father was to walk before Me forever’; but now the Lord declares,‘ Far be it from Me— for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant.

But wanting to justify himself, he said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses.
