又有一个人说：“主啊！我愿意跟从你，但请让我先回去向家人告别。”

又有一个人说：“主，我要跟从你，但容我先回去，向家人道别。”

另有一个人说：“主啊，我要跟从你，但是请准许我先向我家里的人告别。”

又有一人說：「主，我要跟從你，但容我先去辭別我家裏的人。」

又有一人說：「主啊，我要跟從你，但容許我先去辭別我家裏的人。」

Still another said,“ I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”

Yet another said,“ I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.”

Another said,“ Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good bye to my family.”

Another said,“ I will follow you, Lord, but first let me go and say good-bye to those at my house.”

Another also said,“ I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say goodbye to those at my home.”

And another also said,“ Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.”

Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah.“ Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye,” he said,“ and then I will come with you.”“ Go back,” Elijah replied.“ What have I done to you?” (niv)

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters— yes, even their own life— such a person cannot be my disciple. (niv)

“ Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (niv)

He said of his father and mother,‘ I have no regard for them.’ He did not recognize his brothers or acknowledge his own children, but he watched over your word and guarded your covenant. (niv)

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. (niv)
