又謂眾曰、欲從我者、當克己日負其十架以從、

亦謂眾曰、欲為吾徒、則當克己、日負十字架以從、

又謂眾曰、人欲從我、則當克己、日負其十字架而從我、

耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。

Then he said to them all:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to all of them,“ Whoever wants to follow me must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross every day and follow me.

And he said to all,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to the crowd,“ If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

And He was saying to them all,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And he said to[ them] all, If any[ man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

He said to all,“ If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. (niv)

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters— yes, even their own life— such a person cannot be my disciple.And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. (niv)

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” (niv)

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. (niv)

Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. (niv)

It teaches us to say“ No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (niv)

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. (niv)

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, (niv)

Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.“ Never, Lord!” he said.“ This shall never happen to you!”Jesus turned and said to Peter,“ Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. (niv)

And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour?I face death every day— yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. (niv)
