A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain.“ Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said.“ How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered,“ Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says:‘ They will eat and have some left over.’” (niv)

But Moses said,“ Here I am among six hundred thousand men on foot, and you say,‘ I will give them meat to eat for a whole month!’Would they have enough if flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? Would they have enough if all the fish in the sea were caught for them?”The Lord answered Moses,“ Is the Lord’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.” (niv)

Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?”“ How many loaves do you have?” he asked.“ Go and see.” When they found out, they said,“ Five— and two fish.” (niv)

When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip,“ Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?”He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.Philip answered him,“ It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up,“ Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” (niv)
