祂不喧嚷，不呼喊，不在街上高声说话。

于是耶稣带着彼得、雅各和约翰向前走。祂觉得极其难过，非常伤痛，

然后回家关上门，你和你儿子在屋里把那瓶油倒在所有借来的器皿中，装满的放在一边。”于是，妇人辞别以利沙，回去后把自己和儿子关在屋里，儿子递给她器皿，她就倒油。器皿都装满了，她对儿子说：“再拿个器皿给我。”儿子说：“已经没有了。”这时，油止住了。

讲完这些话后大约八天，耶稣带着彼得、约翰和雅各一同到山上祷告。

“你们祷告时，不要像伪君子那样。他们喜欢站在会堂里和十字路口上公开祷告，故意让人看见。我实在告诉你们，他们得到的赏赐不过是人的赞赏。你们祷告的时候，要进入内室，关上门，向你们肉眼看不见的父祈祷，鉴察隐秘事的父必赏赐你们。

于是，祂带着彼得、雅各和雅各的弟弟约翰去雅鲁家，不准其他人跟着。他们到了那里，只见在场的人嚎啕大哭，场面混乱。耶稣进去问道：“你们为什么大哭大嚷呢？这孩子并没有死，只是睡着了。”这些人听了，都讥笑祂。耶稣让他们全部出去，然后带着孩子的父母和三个门徒进了房间。

他们是：西门——耶稣给他取名叫彼得、西门的兄弟安得烈、雅各、约翰、腓力、巴多罗买、

彼得叫她们都出去，自己跪下祷告，然后转身对死者说：“戴碧达，起来！”她便睁开了眼睛，看见彼得，就坐了起来。

祷告后，他上床伏在孩子身上，口对口，眼对眼，手对手，孩子的身体渐渐变暖了。然后，以利沙起来在房内来回走了一趟，又上床伏在孩子身上。孩子打了七个喷嚏，便睁开了眼睛。以利沙叫基哈西请那妇人来。妇人来了，以利沙对她说：“把你儿子抱走吧。”
