For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.

This was because Jesus had commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man. Many times the spirit had taken hold of him. The man’s hands and feet were chained, and he was kept under guard. But he had broken his chains. And then the demon had forced him to go out into lonely places in the countryside.

甚至有人从保罗身上拿走手巾或围裙放在病人身上，病就消除了，邪灵也出去了。那时，有几个巡回各处念咒赶鬼的犹太人，擅自利用主耶稣的名，向那些被邪灵所附的人说：“我奉保罗所传的耶稣命令你们出来！”做这事的是犹太祭司长士基瓦的七个儿子。但邪灵回答他们：“耶稣我知道，保罗我也认识，你们却是谁呢？”被邪灵所附的人就扑到他们身上，制伏他们，胜过他们，使他们赤着身子，受了伤，从那房子里逃出去了。

他被灵拿住就突然喊叫，那灵又使他抽风，口吐白沫，并且重重地伤害他，不轻易放过他。

他们就带了他来。那灵一见耶稣，就使他重重地抽风，倒在地上，翻来覆去，口吐白沫。耶稣问他父亲：“他得这病有多久了呢？”父亲说：“从小的时候。那灵屡次把他扔在火里、水里，要治死他。你若能做什么，求你怜悯我们，帮助我们。”耶稣对他说：“‘你若能’，在信的人，凡事都能。”孩子的父亲立刻喊着说：“我信；求你帮助我的不信！”耶稣看见众人都跑上来，就斥责那污灵说：“你这聋哑的灵，我命令你从他里头出来，再不要进去！”那灵大喊一声，使孩子猛烈地抽了一阵风，就出来了。孩子好像死了一般，以致众人多半说：“他死了。”

他正来的时候，那鬼把他摔倒，使他重重地抽风。耶稣斥责那污灵，把孩子治好了，交给他父亲。

这是因耶稣曾吩咐他说：“污灵啊，从这人身上出来！”

用温柔劝导反对的人。也许神会给他们悔改的心能明白真理，让他们这些已被魔鬼掳去顺从他诡计的人能醒悟过来，脱离他的罗网。

那人常住在坟墓里，没有人能捆住他，就是用铁链也不能；因为人屡次用脚镣和铁链捆锁他，铁链被他挣断，脚镣也被他弄碎了，总没有人能制伏他。他昼夜常在坟墓里和山中喊叫，又用石头打自己。
