主啊，奮發哦！為甚麼儘睡呢？醒起哦！不要永久屏棄呀！

過不多時、有一種東北颱風叫友拉革羅撲下來。船被掣住了，不能頂着風，我們便把船放棄，任它飄蕩着。我們貼着一個小島叫高大的背風岸奔行，僅僅能把持住了艇子。水手們既把艇子拉上來，就用纜索捆住船的下部；又恐怕撞在賽耳底沙灘上，就縋下船具，這樣地任它飄蕩着。我們被風浪逼得極緊，次日眾人就直進行拋出貨物的事；第三天便親手把船上的用具也拋棄了。好多天不見有太陽，也不見有星星，又有不小的暴風雨緊逼着，從此我們得救的指望就被奪了去了。

永恆主啊，洪流揚了起來，洪流揚了聲，洪流揚起着衝激的浪。永恆主在高天、大有威力，勝過諸水的雷轟聲，其威力勝過洋海的激浪。

這些日子有一天，耶穌和他的門徒上了船；對他們說：『我們渡到湖那邊去吧』；他們就開船。

若不是永恆主、他在為我們，那麼、當人起來攻擊我們，向我們發烈怒時，他們早就把我們活活吞下去了；那麼、大水早就漫過我們，急流早就淹沒我們了；

『受困苦、被風吹蕩、不得安慰的人哪，請注意，是我要用光彩石頭安你的基石，用藍寶石奠定你的根基；

永恆主的膀臂啊，奮發，奮發哦！穿上力量為服裝哦！奮發像古時的日子，像往古之年代哦！從前擊傷了拉哈龍，刺透了大海獸的、不是你麼？那使海乾旱，使大深淵的水乾涸，使海的深處變為受贖回之民經過之路的、不是你麼？

有人坐船下海，在大水上經營事務；這些人看見永恆主的作為，永恆主在深海上所行的奇事。他吩咐一聲，狂風就起立，海中的波浪就揚起。他們上到天空，下到深淵底，他們的神魂都因危難而消失。他們搖搖晃晃，東倒西歪，好像醉酒的人；他們的技能都被吞沒於無用。於是他們在急難中喊求永恆主帶領他們脫出他們的窘迫；永恆主就使狂風低微下來，海的波浪就平靜無聲。風平浪靜，他們便歡喜；他就引領他們到所願去的埠頭。

火與冰雹，雪和煙氣，執行他的命令的狂風，

因為我們的大祭司並不是一位不能同情於我們的種種軟弱的，乃是一位在各方面同樣受過試誘、卻沒有罪的。
