主啊！求你醒来，为什么还睡着呢？求你起来，不要永远弃绝我们。

可是过了不久，有一股名叫“友拉革罗”（“友拉革罗”意即“东北风”）的飓风，向岛上吹袭。船给风困住了，不能迎风前行，只好随着风向飘流。有一个小岛名叫高达，我们就在这岛的背风岸急航，好不容易才把救生艇拉住。水手把艇拉上来，用缆索绕过船身捆好。他们怕船在赛耳底搁浅，就收下船帆，任船飘流。风浪把我们颠簸得很厉害，第二天他们就把货物抛在海里，第三天又亲手把船上的用具扔掉。好几天，都看不见星星和太阳，狂风大浪催逼着我们，这样看来，我们连生还的希望都没有了。

耶和华啊！大水扬起了，大水扬起了声音，大水扬起了澎湃的波浪。耶和华在高处大有能力，胜过大水的响声，胜过海中的巨浪。

有一天，耶稣和门徒上了船，他对他们说：“我们渡到海那边去吧。”他们就开了船。

如果不是耶和华帮助我们；那么，人起来攻击我们，向我们发怒的时候，就把我们活活吞下去了。那时，洪水漫过我们，急流淹没我们；

受困苦、被风飘荡、不得安慰的啊！你看，我要用彩色的石头安置你的基石，以蓝宝石奠定你的根基。

耶和华的膀臂啊，醒来吧！醒来吧！穿上能力吧！像古时的日子，像上古的世代一样醒来吧！从前砍碎了拉哈伯，刺透了海龙的，不是你吗？使海，就是大渊的水干涸，使海的深处变为蒙救赎的人经过之路的，不是你吗？

他们有些人坐船出海，在大海上往来经商。他们见过耶和华的作为，和他在深海中所行的奇事。他一吩咐，狂风就刮起，海中的波浪也高扬。他们上到天上，下到深渊，他们的心因危难而惊慌。他们摇摇晃晃，东倒西歪，好像醉酒的人；他们的一切智慧都没有用了。于是他们在急难中呼求耶和华，他就拯救他们脱离困苦。他使狂风止息，海浪就平静无声。风平浪静了，他们就欢喜；他引领他们到他们所愿去的港口。

火和冰雹，雪和云雾，执行他命令的狂风，

因为我们的大祭司并不是不能同情我们的软弱，他像我们一样，也曾在各方面受过试探，只是他没有犯罪。
