你們也知道，拿撒勒人耶穌是上帝用聖靈和大能膏立的。祂周遊四方，廣行善事，醫好被魔鬼壓制的人，因為上帝與祂同在。

西門·彼得見狀，便跪倒在耶穌膝前說：「主啊，離開我，我是個罪人！」

但上帝賜給我們更大的恩典，所以聖經上說：「上帝阻擋驕傲的人，恩待謙卑的人。」

他們便來懇求耶穌，說：「這位百夫長值得你幫助，

我不配蒙你以慈愛和信實相待，我先前過約旦河的時候，手上只有一根杖，現在卻有兩隊人丁家畜。
