耶稣看出他们所想的，就说：“你们心里为什么存着恶念呢？

我的神啊，我知道你察验人心，喜悦正直；至于我，我以正直的心甘愿奉献这一切；现在我也非常欢喜看见你在这里的人民，都甘愿奉献给你。

基督既然在肉身受过苦，你们也应当以同样的心志装备自己（因为在肉身受过苦的，就已经与罪断绝了），

神不会查究这事吗？因为他知道人心的隐秘。

“我知道你万事都能作，你的旨意是不能拦阻的。

但我并不珍惜自己的性命，只求跑完我的路程，完成我从主耶稣所领受的职分，为神恩惠的福音作见证。

趁着白昼，我们必须作那差我来者的工；黑夜一到，就没有人能作工了。

被造的在神面前没有一样不是显明的，万有在他的眼前都是赤露敞开的；我们必须向他交帐。

“至于你，我儿所罗门哪，你要认识耶和华你父亲的神，一心乐意事奉他，因为耶和华鉴察万人的心，知道人的一切心思意念。你若是寻求他，就必寻见；你若是离弃他，他必永远丢弃你。

因为王知道这些事，所以我对王坦白直说。我确信这些事没有一件能瞒得过他，因为这不是在背地里作的。

也不需要谁指证人是怎样的，因为他知道人心里存的是什么。

我必以死亡击杀她的儿女；众教会就都知道我是察验人肺腑心肠的，我要照着你们的行为报应你们各人。

他不灰心，也不沮丧，直到他在地上设立公理，众海岛的人都等候他的教训。

耶稣知道他们的议论，就对他们说：“你们心里为什么议论呢？

什么事都不怕有反对你们的人，这就证明他们要灭亡，你们要得救，这都是出于神。
