于是彼得回应，对他说：“看哪，我们已经撇下一切跟从你了，我们会得到什么呢？”

耶稣看着他，就爱他，对他说：“你还缺少一件：去变卖你所有的，分给穷人，就必有财宝在天上；然后来跟从我。”

爱父母胜过爱我的，不配作我的门徒；爱儿女胜过爱我的，不配作我的门徒。

只是我先前以为对我是有益的，我现在因基督的缘故而当作是有损的。不但如此，我已把万事当作是有损的，因我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。我为他已经丢弃万事，看作粪土，为要赢得基督，

耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，凡为我和福音撇下房屋，或是兄弟、姊妹、父亲、母亲、儿女、田地，没有不在今世得百倍的，就是房屋、兄弟、姊妹、母亲、儿女、田地，并且要受迫害，在来世得永生。
