The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.

Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”

You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever.

The Sovereign Lord has given me a well- instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.“ Where did this man get these things?” they asked.“ What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing?Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.

and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails— given by one shepherd.

But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.

“ No one ever spoke the way this man does,” the guards replied.

Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a ruling rightly given.

His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, this is my friend, daughters of Jerusalem.

Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.

For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.
