安息日过后，七日的第一日，天快亮的时候，抹大拉的马利亚和另一个马利亚来看坟墓。忽然，地大震动；因为有主的一个使者从天上下来，把石头滚开，坐在上面。他的相貌如同闪电，衣服洁白如雪。看守的人吓得浑身颤抖，甚至和死人一样。天使回应妇女说：“不要害怕！我知道你们是寻找那钉十字架的耶稣。他不在这里，照他所说的，他已经复活了。你们来！看看安放他的地方。快去告诉他的门徒，说他已从死人中复活了，并且要比你们先到加利利去，在那里你们会看见他。看哪！我已经告诉你们了。”妇女们急忙离开坟墓，又害怕，又大为欢喜，跑去告诉他的门徒。

还有曾被邪灵所附，被疾病所缠，而已经治好的几个妇女，其中有称为抹大拉的马利亚，曾有七个鬼从她身上赶出来，又有希律的管家苦撒的妻子约亚拿，和苏撒拿以及好些别的妇女，她们都是用自己的财物供给耶稣和使徒。

有好些妇女在那里，远远地观看，她们是从加利利跟随耶稣，来服事他的；其中有抹大拉的马利亚，又有雅各和约瑟的母亲马利亚，并有西庇太两个儿子的母亲。

过了安息日，抹大拉的马利亚、雅各的母亲马利亚，和撒罗米，买了香料，要去膏耶稣的身体。七日的第一日清早，太阳出来后，她们来到坟墓那里，彼此说：“谁要替我们把石头从墓门滚开呢？”她们抬头一看，看见石头已经滚开了，原来那石头很大。她们进了坟墓，看见一个年轻人坐在右边，穿着白袍，就很惊奇。那年轻人对她们说：“不要惊慌！你们寻找那钉十字架的拿撒勒人耶稣，他已经复活了，不在这里。来看安放他的地方。你们去，对他的门徒和彼得说：‘他要比你们先到加利利去，在那里你们会看见他，正如他从前所告诉你们的。’”于是她们出来，从坟墓那里逃走，又发抖又惊讶，什么也没有告诉人，因为她们害怕。〔9凡耶稣所吩咐的，她们简洁地告诉彼得和他周围的人。这些事以后，耶稣亲自藉着他的门徒，从东到西，把那神圣、不朽、永远拯救的福音传出去。阿们！〕〔
