士兵把耶穌帶走在院子裏、就是皇省長府內，又把全營叫齊。給他穿上紫色褂子，編好了荊棘華冠，給他戴上：就給他請安說：『猶太人的王萬歲！』又用一根葦子擊打他的頭，向他吐唾沫，跪下拜他。戲弄完了，就給他脫了紫色褂子，給他穿上他自己的衣裳；帶他出去，要給釘十字架。

耶穌對他們說：『「以利亞先來、復興萬事！」那麼那指着人子、說他該受許多苦、並被藐視、是怎麼記載的呢？

惟獨你知道我受的辱罵、慚愧和侮辱；我的敵人都在你面前。辱罵使我的心破碎：我簡直糟透了；我希望有人一同悲傷，卻沒有一個；希望有人來安慰，卻找不着。

那時總督的兵把耶穌帶進府內，召集全營在他那裏。給耶穌脫了衣服，把朱紅軍短褂給他穿上；用荊棘編個華冠，放在他頭上，又把一根葦子放在他右手裏；跪在他面前，戲弄他說：『猶太人的王萬歲！』又向他吐唾沬，拿那根葦子直打他的頭。

他被藐視，被絕交，是個多受痛苦、熟知憂患的人，像被人掩面不看的一樣；他被藐視，我們並不算他為甚麼。

希律和本丟彼拉多、同外國人和以色列眾族之民、真地在這城裏聚集，攻打你所膏立的聖僕耶穌，要作你手和你計畫所豫定必成的一切事。

於是耶穌出來到外邊，戴着荊棘華冠，穿着紫色衣裳！彼拉多對他們說：『看哪，這個人！』

那贖回以色列者、以色列之聖者、永恆主對那藐視自己、被列國厭惡、做轄制人者奴僕的、這麼說：『君王必看見你而起立，公侯也必下拜；都因可信可靠的永恆主、以色列之聖者、揀選了你、的緣故。』

至於我呢、我乃是蟲子，並不是人；我被人羞辱，被眾民藐視。

又蒙着他的眼，問他說：『說豫言吧；打你的是誰？』他們還說許多別的話刺他，辱罵他。
