For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient,“ The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”and,“ a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.

but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,

He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust.”

Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Yahweh are right, and the righteous walk in them; But the rebellious stumble in them.

But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priestand asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”He said,“ Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said,“ I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.But rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.”The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one.Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision,“ Ananias!” He said,“ Behold, it’s me, Lord.”The Lord said to him,“ Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.”But Ananias answered,“ Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem.Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”But the Lord said to him,“ Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”Ananias departed and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized.He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus.Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God.

He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out, and blessed the people; and Yahweh’s glory appeared to all the people.

For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us,looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.

The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against the Lord, and against his Christ.’

But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.

For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

But we desire to hear from you what you think. For, as concerning this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.”

saying,“ Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive:‘ After three days I will rise again.’

For the zeal of your house consumes me. The reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.When I wept and I fasted, that was to my reproach.When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.Those who sit in the gate talk about me. I am the song of the drunkards.

For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved and in those who perish:to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

“ Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what shall we do?”Peter said to them,“ Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying,“ Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.

The word of God increased and the number of the disciples greatly multiplied in Jerusalem. A great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.

Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it as Yahweh had commanded. They had done so; and Moses blessed them.

He blessed him, and said,“ Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

and saying,“ You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,“ He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.

For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.

Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;

When they didn’t find them, they dragged Jason and certain brothers before the rulers of the city, crying,“ These who have turned the world upside down have come here also,

Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying,“ He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.What do you think?” They answered,“ He is worthy of death!”Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.“ Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.“ Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,“ He trusts in Yahweh. Let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”
