耶稣打发彼得和约翰，说：“你们去为我们预备逾越节的宴席，好让我们吃。”他们问他：“你要我们在哪里预备？”耶稣对他们说：“你们进了城，会有人拿着一罐水迎面而来，你们就跟着他，到他所进的房子里去，对那家的主人说：‘老师问：客房在哪里？我和我的门徒要在那里吃逾越节的宴席。’他会带你们看一间摆设齐全的楼上大厅，你们就在那里预备。”他们去了，所看到的正如耶稣所说的。他们就预备了逾越节的宴席。

现在事情还没有发生，我预先告诉你们，使你们在事情发生的时候会信。

你今日离开我之后，会在便雅悯境内的谢撒，靠近拉结的坟墓，遇见两个人。他们会对你说：‘你要找的几匹母驴已经找到了。看哪，你父亲不为驴子的事挂虑，反为你担忧，说：我为儿子该做些什么呢？’你从那里往前走，到了他泊的橡树那里，会遇见三个往伯特利去敬拜上帝的人：一个带着三只小山羊，一个带着三个饼，一个带着一皮袋酒。他们会向你问安，给你两个饼，你就从他们手中接过来。然后你要到上帝的山去，在那里有非利士的驻军。你到了城里的时候，会遇见一队先知从丘坛下来，前面有鼓瑟的、击鼓的、吹笛的、弹琴的，他们都受感说话。耶和华的灵必大大感动你，你就与他们一同受感说话，转变成另一个人。这征兆临到你，你就要趁机做该做的事，因为上帝与你同在。你要在我以先下到吉甲。看哪，我必下到你那里献燔祭和平安祭。你要等候七日，等我到你那里指示你当做的事。”扫罗转身离开撒母耳，上帝就改变他，赐给他另一颗心。当日这一切征兆都应验了。

被打发的人去了，所遇见的正如耶稣对他们所说的。
