When Jesus heard his answer, he said,“ There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

“ Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it.

Jesus told him,“ If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.

As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus,“ I will follow you wherever you go.”But Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”He said to another person,“ Come, follow me.” The man agreed, but he said,“ Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”But Jesus told him,“ Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.”Another said,“ Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good bye to my family.”But Jesus told him,“ Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.

And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.

There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell themand bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need.For instance, there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas( which means“ Son of Encouragement”). He was from the tribe of Levi and came from the island of Cyprus.He sold a field he owned and brought the money to the apostles.
