耶穌聽了，就告訴他：“你還缺少一件，應當變賣你一切所有的，分給窮人，你就必定有財寶在天上，而且你還要來跟從我。”

When Jesus heard this, he said to him,“ You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

當變賣你們所有的施捨給人，為自己製造不朽壞的錢囊，積蓄用不盡的財寶在天上，就是賊不能近、蟲不能蛀的地方。

耶穌對他說：“如果你想要完全，就去變賣你所有的，分給窮人，你就必定有財寶在天上，而且你要來跟從我。”

又要囑咐他們行善，在善事上富足，慷慨好施。這樣，就為自己在來世積聚財富，作美好的基礎，好叫他們能夠得著那真正的生命。

但是最需要的只有一件，馬利亞已經選擇了那上好的分，是不能從她奪去的。”

我告訴你們，要用不義的錢財（“錢財”亞蘭文是“瑪門”）去結交朋友，好叫錢財無用的時候，他們可以接你們到永恆的帳棚裡。

弟兄們，我不以為自己已經得著了，我只有一件事，就是忘記背後，努力前面的事，

耶穌又對眾人說：“如果有人願意跟從我，就當捨己，天天背起他的十字架來跟從我。

“不可為自己在地上積聚財寶，因為地上有蟲蛀，有鏽侵蝕，也有賊挖洞來偷。要為自己積聚財寶在天上，那裡沒有蟲蛀鏽蝕，也沒有賊挖洞來偷。

親愛的，這一件事你們不可忘記：在主看來，一日如千年，千年如一日。

那時彼得對他說：“你看，我們已經捨棄一切跟從了你，我們會得到甚麼呢？”耶穌對他們說：“我實在告訴你們，到了萬物更新，人子坐在他榮耀的寶座上的時候，你們這些跟從我的人，也會坐在十二個寶座上，審判以色列的十二個支派。

他們走路的時候，有一個人對他說：“你無論往哪裡去，我都要跟從你！”耶穌說：“狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，人子卻沒有棲身的地方。”他對另一個人說：“你跟從我吧！”那人說：“主啊，請准我先回去安葬我的父親吧。”耶穌說：“讓死人去埋葬他們的死人，你應該去傳揚神的國。”又有一個人說：“主，我要跟從你，但容我先回去，向家人道別。”耶穌說：“手扶著犁向後看的，不適合進神的國。”

有一件事我求過耶和華，我還要尋求；我要一生一世住在耶和華的殿裡，瞻仰他的榮美，在他的殿中求問。

所有信的人都在一起，凡物公用，並且變賣產業和財物，按照各人的需要分給他們。

他們中間沒有一個有缺乏的，因為凡有田產房屋的都賣了，把得到的錢拿來，放在使徒腳前，照著各人的需要來分配。有一個人名叫約瑟，使徒稱他為巴拿巴，就是“安慰者”的意思，他是個利未人，生在塞浦路斯。他賣掉了自己的田地，把錢拿來，放在使徒的腳前。
