夫閃電之作、發於此而照於彼、霎時瑩徹全宇。人子降臨之日、亦復如是。

For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.

电光怎样从东方闪出来，一直照到西方，人子降临的时候，也是这样。

万军之耶和华说：“看哪！那日来到，像烧着的火炉一样；骄傲的和作恶的，都必成为碎秸；那要来的日子，必把他们烧尽，不给他们留下一根一枝。可是，对你们敬畏我名的人，必有公义的太阳升起来；它的光线有医治的功能；你们必出来跳跃，像栏里的肥牛犊。”

万军之耶和华说：“看哪！我派我的使者，在我前面预备道路；你们所寻求的主，必忽然进入他的殿；你们所爱慕立约的使者，就要来到。”可是，他来的日子，谁能当得起呢？他显现的时候，谁能站立得住呢？因为他像炼金之人的火，又像漂布之人的碱。

无论有灵、有话、有冒我们的名的书信，说主的日子现在到了，你们都不要轻易动心，也不要惊慌。

你们也应当忍耐，坚定自己的心；因为主再来的日子近了。

因为你们自己清楚知道，主的日子来到，就像夜间的贼来到一样。

他发雷声响遍天下，也发电光闪到地极。接着雷声霹雳，神以自己威严之声打雷，人听到雷声的时候，神并没有留住风霜雨云（“风霜雨云”直译是“它们”）。

耶和华必在他子民头上显现，他的箭必像闪电一般射出；主耶和华必吹起号角，乘着南方的暴风而行。

但主的日子必要像贼一样来到。在那日，天必轰然一声地消失，所有元素都因烈火而融化；地和地上所有的，都要被烧毁（“被烧毁”有不少古抄本作“被发现”）。

“那时，人子的征兆要显在天上，地上的万族都要哀号，并且看见人子带着能力，满有荣耀，驾着天上的云降临。

那时，这不法的人必要显露出来。主耶稣要用自己口中的气除掉他，以自己再来所显现的光辉消灭他。

耶稣回答：“你已经说了﹙“你已经说了”或译：“这是你说的。”﹚；但我告诉你们：从今以后，你们要看见人子，坐在权能者的右边，驾着天上的云降临。”

“当人子在他的荣耀里，带着所有的使者降临的时候，他要坐在荣耀的宝座上。
