“可是亚伯拉罕说：‘孩子啊，你当想起，你一生怎样享了你的福，而拉撒路怎样受了苦；但如今他在这里受到安慰，你却在痛苦中。

亞伯拉罕說：『兒啊，你該回想你生前享過福，拉撒路也受過苦；如今他在這裏得安慰，你倒受痛苦。

亞伯拉罕說：『孩子啊，你該回想你生前享過福，拉撒路也同樣受過苦，如今他在這裏得安慰，你卻受痛苦。

亞伯拉罕說：『孩子啊，你該回想你生前享過福，拉撒路也同樣受過苦，如今他在這裏得安慰，你卻受痛苦。

亞伯拉罕說：‘孩子，你應該回想你生前享過福，同樣拉撒路受過苦，現在他在這裡得安慰，你卻要受苦了。

亞伯拉罕說：「孩子，你該回想你一生受盡了你的美物，而拉撒路也照樣受盡了禍患；如今他在這裏得慰藉，你倒受慘苦了！

「可是亞伯拉罕說：『孩子啊，你當想起，你一生怎樣享了你的福，而拉撒路怎樣受了苦；但如今他在這裡受到安慰，你卻在痛苦中。

亞伯拉罕曰、子乎、當憶爾生時、受諸福、拉撒路受諸難、今彼慰、而爾苦焉、

亞伯漢曰：「兒乎、當憶汝生前如何享樂、辣柴魯如何受苦、今則彼見慰、而汝受罪矣。

“ But Abraham replied,‘ Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

“ But Abraham replied,‘ Son, remember what happened in your lifetime. You received your good things. Lazarus received bad things. Now he is comforted here, and you are in terrible pain.

But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.

“ But Abraham said to him,‘ Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish.

“‘ Son,’ Abraham said,‘ remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.

But Abraham said,‘ Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things: but now here he is comforted, and thou art in anguish.

“‘ Son,’ Abraham said,‘ remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things and Lazarus likewise bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in anguish.

“ But Abraham said,‘ Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But here he is now comforted, and you are in anguish.

「富有的人有禍了，因為你們已經享盡了人世間的安逸！

耶和華啊，求你伸手救我脫離這些人，脫離這些只在今生有福分的世人。你使他們財寶無數。他們兒女眾多，還把財富留給子孫。

倘若你一隻腳使你犯罪，就砍掉它！瘸著腿進入永生，

不要愛世界和世上的事，因為人若愛世界，就不會再有愛父的心了。

免得有人因遭受這些患難而動搖，因為你們知道我們必遭受患難。

我把這些事告訴你們，是要叫你們在我裡面有平安。你們在世上會有苦難，但你們要放心，我已經勝過這個世界。」

他們的神就是自己的肚腹，他們以自己的羞恥為榮，只想著地上的事，他們的結局是滅亡。

「伯沙撒啊，你是他的後裔，你雖然知道這一切事，仍不謙卑，竟在天上的主面前自大，命人拿來祂殿裡的器皿，供你和大臣、王后、妃嬪用來飲酒，並頌讚不能看、不能聽、一無所知、用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神明，卻不尊崇賜你生命氣息、掌管你一舉一動的上帝。

堅固各地門徒的信心，鼓勵他們要持守信仰，並且說：「我們在進入上帝國的道路上必經歷許多苦難。」

我回答說：「先生，你知道答案。」他便說：「這些都是經過大災難的人，他們用羔羊的血將衣裳洗得純淨潔白。

因為顧念罪惡本性的人與上帝為敵，不服從上帝的律法，也無力服從。

他們胖得眼睛凸出，心中充滿罪惡。

看這些惡人，他們總是生活安逸，財富日增。我潔身自愛，保持清白，實屬徒然。我天天遭災，日日受苦。要是我這樣說，我就是背叛了你的子民。我想明白這一切，卻百思不得其解。直到我進入你的聖所，才明白他們的結局。你把他們放在容易滑倒的地方，使他們落入毀滅中。他們頃刻間被毀滅，在恐怖中徹底滅亡。

儘管他們用自己的名字來為產業命名，墳墓卻是他們永遠的歸宿，世代的住處。

他在陰間受折磨，抬頭遠遠地看見亞伯拉罕和他身邊的拉撒路，

我見過邪惡殘暴之人，乍看如蔥蘢的黎巴嫩香柏樹，再一看，他已經消失得無影無蹤，無處可尋。

當夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被殺。

然而，是上帝把美物充滿他們的家；因此，我決不苟同他們的想法。

寧願與上帝的子民一同受苦，也不肯享受一時的罪中之樂。

在困苦流離中，耶路撒冷想起昔日的榮華。如今，她的人民落在敵人手中，無人援救。仇敵看見她，都嘲笑她的滅亡。

又有一個名叫拉撒路的乞丐身上長滿了膿瘡，被人放在財主家門口。

他們一生幸福，安然下到陰間。他們對上帝說，『離開我們，我們不想學習你的道。
