For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn’t believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins.

Were you looking for a prophet? Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.”

Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

From then on Jesus began to preach,“ Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News.

“ Starting with Samuel, every prophet spoke about what is happening today.You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors. For God said to Abraham,‘ Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed.’

‘ We wipe even the dust of your town from our feet to show that we have abandoned you to your fate. And know this— the Kingdom of God is near!’

But God was fulfilling what all the prophets had foretold about the Messiah— that he must suffer these things.

Heal the sick, and tell them,‘ The Kingdom of God is near you now.’

Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

“ But Abraham said,‘ If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

“ But Abraham said,‘ Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.’

If we allow him to go on like this, soon everyone will believe in him. Then the Roman army will come and destroy both our Temple and our nation.”

Then the Pharisees said to each other,“ There’s nothing we can do. Look, everyone has gone after him!”

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.
