Whenever they bring you before synagogues and rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how you should defend yourselves or what you should say.

人带你们到会堂，并官府和有权柄的人面前，不要思虑怎么分诉，说什么话；

人把你们拉到会堂、官长和当权者的面前，你们不要思虑怎样申辩或说什么话。

当他们把你们带到会堂，或带到统治者和掌权者面前的时候，不要忧虑怎样申辩或说什么。

人曳爾至會堂、及執政操權者前、毋慮何以對、何所言、

人曳爾至會堂、及執政秉鈞者前、勿慮將如之何、何以訴、何以言、

人曳爾至會堂及執政秉權者前、勿慮將如何伸訴、何以伸訴、何以言、

人曳爾至會堂、或有司之前、毋庸鰓鰓過慮、其何以辯護、如何措詞、

“ When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say,

Now when they bring you before the synagogues and the officials and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you are to speak in your defense, or what you are to say;

“ Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say.

And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

Whenever they bring you before synagogues and rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how you should defend yourselves or what you should say.

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and[ unto] magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

But when they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how you should make your defense or what you should say,

When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer, or what you will say;

Beware of them, because they will hand you over to local courts and flog you in their synagogues.You will even be brought before governors and kings because of me, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.But when they hand you over, don’t worry about how or what you are to speak. For you will be given what to say at that hour,because it isn’t you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father is speaking through you.

The next day, their rulers, elders, and scribes assembled in Jerusalemwith Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all the members of the high-priestly family.After they had Peter and John stand before them, they began to question them:“ By what power or in what name have you done this?”

“ But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to local courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.And it is necessary that the gospel be preached to all nations.So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say, but say whatever is given to you at that time, for it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you. They will hand you over to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name.This will give you an opportunity to bear witness.Therefore make up your minds not to prepare your defense ahead of time,

This is why I am sending you prophets, sages, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

Then he said to his disciples,“ Therefore I tell you, don’t worry about your life, what you will eat; or about the body, what you will wear.

After they brought them in, they had them stand before the Sanhedrin, and the high priest asked,“ Didn’t we strictly order you not to teach in this name? Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”Peter and the apostles replied,“ We must obey God rather than people.The God of our ancestors raised up Jesus, whom you had murdered by hanging him on a tree.God exalted this man to his right hand as ruler and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.”

Opposition arose, however, from some members of the Freedmen’s Synagogue, composed of both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, and they began to argue with Stephen.But they were unable to stand up against his wisdom and the Spirit by whom he was speaking.Then they secretly persuaded some men to say,“ We heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; so they came, seized him, and took him to the Sanhedrin.They also presented false witnesses who said,“ This man never stops speaking against this holy place and the law.For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”And all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
