禍哉爾教法師乎、因爾奪知識之鑰、爾自不進、有欲進者、爾則阻之、

哀哉明律士！爾曹奪去知識之管籥、己不願進、亦不容人之進也。』

“ Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們當着人的面把天國的門關了，自己不進去，要進去的人，你們也不容他們進去。

祭司的嘴唇當守護知識，人也當從他口中尋求訓誨，因為他是萬軍之耶和華的使者。

但為避免這事越發在民間傳揚，我們必須威嚇他們，叫他們不可再奉這名對任何人講論。」於是他們叫了兩人來，禁止他們，再不可奉耶穌的名講論或教導人。

於是法利賽人第二次叫了那以前失明的人來，對他說：「你要將榮耀歸給神，我們知道這人是個罪人。」那人就回答：「他是不是個罪人，我不知道；有一件事我知道，我本來是失明的，現在我看見了。」他們就問他：「他給你做了甚麼？是怎麼開了你的眼睛？」他回答他們：「我已經告訴你們了，你們不聽，為甚麼又要聽呢？難道你們也要作他的門徒嗎？」他們就罵他：「你是他的門徒，而我們是摩西的門徒。神對摩西說話是我們知道的，可是這個人，我們不知道他從哪裏來。」那人回答，對他們說：「他開了我的眼睛，你們竟不知道他從哪裏來，這真是奇怪！我們知道神不聽罪人，惟有敬奉神、遵行他旨意的，神才聽他。從創世以來，未曾聽見有人開了生來就失明的人的眼睛。這人若不是從神來的，甚麼也不能做。」他們回答他說：「你完全是生在罪中的，還要來教訓我們嗎？」於是他們把他趕出去了。

於是法利賽人說：「你們也受了迷惑嗎？難道官長或法利賽人中有信他的嗎？但這些不明白律法的眾人是被詛咒的！」其中有尼哥德慕，就是從前去見過耶穌的，對他們說：「不先聽本人的口供，查明他所做的事，難道我們的律法還定他的罪嗎？」他們回答他說：「你也是出自加利利嗎？你去查考就知道，加利利是不出先知的。」〔

律法師中有一個回答耶穌，說：「老師，你這樣說也把我們侮辱了。」耶穌說：「你們律法師也有禍了！因為你們把難挑的擔子放在別人身上，自己卻不肯動一個指頭去減輕這些擔子。

人羣中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，責備你的門徒吧！」耶穌回答：「我告訴你們，若是這些人閉口不說，石頭也要呼叫起來。」

就叫使徒來，把他們打了，又吩咐他們不可奉耶穌的名講道，然後把他們釋放了。
