耶穌對他們講一個比喻，論到人必須常常祈禱，不可灰心。他說：“某城裡有一個法官，不懼怕神，也不尊敬人。那城裡有一個寡婦，常常來到他那裡，說：‘求你給我伸冤，使我脫離我的對頭！’他多次不肯，後來心裡說：‘我雖然不懼怕神，也不尊敬人，只是因為這寡婦常常來麻煩我，就給她伸冤吧，免得她不斷地來纏擾我。’”主說：“你們聽聽這不義的法官所說的話吧。難道神不會為晝夜呼籲他的選民伸冤嗎？難道神會耽誤他們嗎？我告訴你們，他要快快地給他們伸冤。然而人子來的時候，在世上找得到這種信心嗎？”
