人未有燃燈而置諸庫中斗下者、必安之於燈臺之上、使入室者咸得見光明也。

“ No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.

And He was saying to them,“ A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, or under a bed, is it? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light.

nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

I have come as Light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me will remain in darkness.

so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,holding firmly the word of life, so that on the day of Christ I can take pride because I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.

What I tell you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops.

Jesus replied,“ Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks during the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
