示巴女王听到所罗门因耶和华的名所得的名声，就来要用难题试试他。她带着大批随员到耶路撒冷来，又有骆驼驮着香料、许多金子和宝石。她来到所罗门那里，就把她心里所有的难题都对他说出来。所罗门把她所有的问题都给她解说明白，没有一件事难倒王，使王不能回答她的。示巴女王看见所罗门的一切智慧和他建造的宫殿、桌上的食物、臣仆的座位、仆人的侍候、他们的服饰、王的酒政和王在耶和华的殿献上的燔祭，就惊奇得不知所措。于是她对王说：“我在本国听见有关你的事和你的智慧，原来都是真的；以前我并不相信那些话，等到我来了，亲眼看见，才知道人告诉我的还不到一半；你的智慧和财富，超过我所听闻的。属你的人是有福的，你的这些臣仆是有福的，他们常常侍立在你面前，聆听你的智慧。耶和华你的神是应当称颂的！他喜悦你，使你坐在以色列的王位上；因为耶和华永远喜爱以色列，所以立你作王，要你秉行公义。”于是示巴女王把约四千公斤金子、大批香料和宝石送给王；以后奉来的香料再也没有像示巴女王送给所罗门的那么多。此外，从俄斐运金子来的希兰船队，又从俄斐运了大批檀香木和宝石来。王用檀香木为耶和华的殿和王宫做栏杆，又为歌唱的做琴瑟。以后再也没有这样的檀香木运来，也没有人看见过，直到今日。所罗门王照着示巴女王所愿所求的一切赐给她，另外又厚厚地馈赠她。于是女王和她的臣仆都返回本国去了。

圣灵仿佛鸽子，有形体地降在他身上；有声音从天上来，说：“你是我的爱子，我喜悦你。”

因为有一个婴孩为我们而生，有一个儿子赐给我们；政权必担在他的肩头上；他的名必称为“奇妙的策士、全能的神、永恒的父、和平的君”。他的政权与平安必无穷无尽地增加，他在大卫的宝座上治理他的国，以公平和公义使国坚立稳固，从现在直到永远。万军之耶和华的热心必成全这事。

因着信，挪亚在还没有看见的事上，得了神的警告，就动了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉着这信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而来的义。

耶和华对我说：“背道的以色列，比诡诈的犹大还显得正义。

那本来没有受割礼却遵守律法的人，就要审判你这有仪文和割礼而犯律法的人。

为攻击你而制成的武器，都没有效用；在审判的时候兴起来与你争辩的舌头，你都必定它为有罪。这是耶和华众仆人的产业，他们的义是从我而得；这是耶和华说的。

这爱子是那看不见的神的形象，是首先的，在一切被造的之上。因为天上地上的万有：看得见的和看不见的，无论是坐王位的，或是作主的，或是执政的，或是掌权的，都是本着他造的；万有都是藉着他，又是为着他而造的。他在万有之先；万有也一同靠着他而存在。他是身体的头，这身体就是教会。他是元始，是死人中首先复生的，好让他在凡事上居首位；因为神乐意使所有的丰盛都住在爱子里面，

有声音从云彩里出来，说：“这是我的儿子，我所拣选的（“这是我的儿子，我所拣选的”有些抄本作“这是我的爱子”），你们要听从他！”
