For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people,instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age,looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.

who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love

For God has not called us for impurity, but in sanctification.

“ For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord:“ I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.They will not teach again, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying,‘ Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord,“ for I will forgive their wrongdoing, and their sin I will no longer remember.”

Through these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world on account of lust.Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,and in your knowledge, self control, and in your self control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they do not make you useless nor unproductive in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

so that you, your son, and your grandson will fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

He also gave them the lands of the nations, So that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,And that they might keep His statutes And comply with His laws; Praise the Lord!

Finally then, brothers and sisters, we request and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us as to how you ought to walk and please God( just as you actually do walk), that you excel even more.

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

and I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts, so that they will not turn away from Me.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;because it is written:“ You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
