看哪，你要成為啞巴，不能說話，一直到這些事成就的日子，因為你不相信我的話！到了時候，我的話就會應驗。」

爾必默不能言、以至事成之日、因爾不信我言、而屆時必應也、

爾必瘖不能語、至事成之日、以爾不信我言、時至必應、

因是將成瘖啞、以迄事成之日。』

我必使你的舌頭貼住上膛，以致你啞口，不能作責備他們的人；他們原是悖逆之家。

藉這兩件不可更改的事－在這些事上，神絕不會說謊－我們這些逃往避難所的人能得到強有力的鼓勵，去抓住那擺在我們前頭的指望。

凡我所疼愛的，我就責備管教。所以，你要發熱心，也要悔改。

那日你要向逃脫的人開口說話，不再啞口無言。你必這樣成為他們的預兆，他們就知道我是耶和華。」

他們就向他父親打手勢，問他這孩子要叫甚麼名字。他要了一塊寫字的板，寫上：「他的名字是約翰。」他們就都驚訝。

有一個攙扶王的軍官回答神人說：「看哪，即使耶和華打開天上的窗戶，也不可能有這事。」以利沙說：「看哪，你必親眼看見，在那裏卻吃不到甚麼。」

耶穌回答：「唉！這不信的世代啊，我和你們在一起要到幾時呢？我忍耐你們要到幾時呢？把他帶到我這裏！」

我們縱然失信，他仍是可信的，因為他不能否認自己。

那軍官回答神人說：「看哪，即使耶和華打開天上的窗戶，也不可能有這事。」神人說：「看哪，你必親眼看見，在那裏卻吃不到甚麼。」

這相信的女子是有福的！因為主對她所說的話都要應驗。」

這真理是在盼望那無謊言的神在萬古之先所應許的永生，

到他出來，卻不能和他們說話，他們就知道他在聖所裏見了異象；他直向他們打手勢，因為他成了啞巴。

有一位說：「明年這時候，我一定會回到你這裏。看哪，你的妻子撒拉會生一個兒子。」撒拉在那人後面的帳棚門口也聽見了。亞伯拉罕和撒拉都年紀老邁，撒拉的月經已停了。撒拉心裏竊笑，說：「我已衰老，我的主也老了，怎能有這喜事呢？」耶和華對亞伯拉罕說：「撒拉為甚麼竊笑，說：『我已年老，果真能生育嗎？』耶和華豈有難成的事嗎？到了所定的時候，我必回到你這裏。明年這時候，撒拉會生一個兒子。」撒拉因為害怕，就不承認，說：「我沒有笑。」那人說：「不，你的確笑了。」

耶和華對他說：「誰造人的口呢？誰使人口啞、耳聾、目明、眼瞎呢？豈不是我－耶和華嗎？

後來十一使徒坐席的時候，耶穌向他們顯現，責備他們不信，心裏剛硬，因為他們不信那些在他復活以後看見他的人。

以法蓮的首都是撒瑪利亞；撒瑪利亞的領袖是利瑪利的兒子。你們若是不信，必站立不穩。』」

但是耶和華對摩西、亞倫說：「因為你們不信我，沒有在以色列人眼前尊我為聖，所以你們必不能領這會眾進入我所要賜給他們的地去。」

即使有不信的，這又何妨呢？難道他們的不信就廢掉神的信實嗎？
