Reports of these things were handed down to us. There were people who saw these things for themselves from the beginning. They saw them and then passed the word on.

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

The elders therefore among you I exhort, who am a fellow- elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

Of the men therefore that have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,beginning from the baptism of John, unto the day that he was received up from us, of these must one become a witness with us of his resurrection.

for we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.

But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

to whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing unto them by the space of forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God:

And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom also they slew, hanging him on a tree.Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest,not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

Ye are witnesses of these things.

Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church;whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you- ward, to fulfil the word of God,

that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:

whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
