Then the priests in Aaron’s family line must burn it on the altar. They must burn it on top of the burnt offering that is lying on the burning wood. It is a food offering. Its smell pleases the Lord.

Then Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar on top of the burnt offering, which is on the wood on the fire; it is a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Then take all the fat on the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.

“ This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old.Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and its drink offering as in the morning— a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.“ For the generations to come this burnt offering is to be made regularly at the entrance to the tent of meeting, before the Lord. There I will meet you and speak to you;

But even before the fat was burned, the priest’s servant would come and say to the person who was sacrificing,“ Give the priest some meat to roast; he won’t accept boiled meat from you, but only raw.”If the person said to him,“ Let the fat be burned first, and then take whatever you want,” the servant would answer,“ No, hand it over now; if you don’t, I’ll take it by force.”

After this, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests, because the priests, the descendants of Aaron, were sacrificing the burnt offerings and the fat portions until nightfall. So the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the Aaronic priests.

You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

In addition to all your other detestable practices, you brought foreigners uncircumcised in heart and flesh into my sanctuary, desecrating my temple while you offered me food, fat and blood, and you broke my covenant.

On that same day the king consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar that stood before the Lord was too small to hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings.

“ Say to the Israelites:‘ Anyone who brings a fellowship offering to the Lord is to bring part of it as their sacrifice to the Lord.With their own hands they are to present the food offering to the Lord; they are to bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast before the Lord as a wave offering.The priest shall burn the fat on the altar, but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons.You are to give the right thigh of your fellowship offerings to the priest as a contribution.The son of Aaron who offers the blood and the fat of the fellowship offering shall have the right thigh as his share.From the fellowship offerings of the Israelites, I have taken the breast that is waved and the thigh that is presented and have given them to Aaron the priest and his sons as their perpetual share from the Israelites.’”
